Anxiety and stress
Although anxiety and stress can be natural reactions to daily life, there can be a ‘tipping point’ where they dominate our lives leading to constant worry, lack of sleep, breakdown in jobs or relationships. Counselling offers a space to explore what is causing you anxiety and stress and to find ways to manage better.
Bereavement
Most people suffer loss at some point which can be profound and rock you to the core. Therapy can help you to navigate one of the most challenging times of your life and see some hope for the future.
Men’s counselling
Regardless of sexuality, men often find it challenging to express their feelings. This can lead to depression and sometimes, suicidal thoughts. Societal expectations mean that men often don’t want to be seen as showing emotion due to a fear of being seen as weak – the safe space of counselling can be a positive influence on mental health. Therapy is a way to express what is causing you concern, free from any judgement.
LGBT issues
As a gay man, this topic has personal relevance and I can relate to the journey of ‘coming out’. I also have experience of working with clients who identify as LGBT and this has often led to exploring sexuality or, with trans or non-binary clients, gender. We have explored issues such as coming out, personal relationships, coercive control, anxiety, depression and loss.
